When I was a teenager, my friends and I would hike to the most beautiful spot in the Catalina State Park called Romero Pools. I remember how hot it was when we would hike this in the summer. It would be about 110 degrees, and we'd be almost passed out by the time we got to the pools, but as soon as we reached them, it was so worth the pain! Beautiful waterfalls and pools to swim in. We used to stay there for the entire day just swimming and having a great time.
Since I headed back home over Spring Break, I wanted to show my kids the same area and let them enjoy it as much as I did. Although the water wasn't running even half as much as it used to, it was still a beautiful hike, and we enjoyed relaxing when we got to the pools.
Here's a bit of our adventure.

Enjoy the beautiful view with my oldest daughter.
This hike is definitely not an easy one. There are a lot of rocks to climb, and it's very steep. My youngest one had a hard time, and we had to stop a few times along the way to catch our breath, drink some water, and eat a snack now and then; but the view is worth it. I was sad to see that there was only about a 1/4 of the water there usually is, but that does pick up during the monsoon season. Even during that time, there can be too much water to swim in safely so be careful if you're hiking this trail during that time of year.
