It was a beautiful sunny day, so why not take a road trip? We packed a picnic, piled the kids into the car, and headed out to visit the Grand Teton National Park. Our drive started out with us slamming on the brakes in the middle of a busy road for some sheep! Yep, there were sheep walking down the middle of the highway. We never did figure out where they came from, but it was definitely a great beginning to a great adventure.
Next we drove through Idaho and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes. The rolling hills of farmland, and the gorgeous blue skies. It looked so peaceful and serene.
There were also old barns and building along the way that I thought were so fascinating. Every time I see abandoned buildings, I always wonder about the history of them. Who used to own them? Why are they abandoned? Does anyone own them now? I just find them really captivating.
When we reached Wyoming, the scenery changed completely. Tall pine trees, glorious mountain ranges, raging rivers and different wildlife. Both Idaho and Wyoming were amazing in two completely different ways.
After spending the day staring at the Grand Tetons, catching ladybugs, hiking the trails, and skipping rocks in the lake, it was time to head back home. The adventure didn't end there though. Check out what we got to see on the way home!!!!
We also got to view the most amazing sunset and drive in the biggest lightning storm I've ever seen!
What a "Grand" adventure! I can't wait for our next one!!
