I was going to add a "Part 4" to this story, but I think I'll cut it short and finish it up today ;)
Part 3/4: Disneyland & Newport Beach
Date & Time: Sunday, March 10, 2013 – 7:00pm
Mission: Take the kids to Disneyland and the beach to have a blast, and soak up the sun!
It was heartbreaking to leave my family in Arizona, and I pray I will not have to wait another 8 years to see them again. As we boarded the flight to LA, my eyes were full of tears, but I knew I couldn’t stay forever. It was now time to take the kids to Disneyland and the ocean. The flight was only 1 hour, so it wasn’t bad at all. As we landed in LA, we got to see the lights of the city.
After we landed in LA, we surprised our kids with a limo ride to Anaheim! My kids were completely shocked and had a blast pretending they were famous LOL! I think they were in more shock to see so much traffic- I know I was! I guess I’m spoiled with the traffic in Alaska. I will never complain about it during rush hour ever again! ;) Anyway, over the next 2 days we visited with Mickey Mouse and the crew and had an extremely grand time! The weather was perfect, and we learned how to use the Fast Pass! We also wore our “Alaska Grown” shirts and got a lot of questions from a ton of people. Not to mention the other “Alaskans” we ran into along the way! It was nice meeting all of you!
Our last day on vacation and the one thing that our kids asked for was to see the beach and collect seashells. How can you say no to that? We headed out to Newport Beach! Our plan was to stay a few hours and enjoy it as much as possible, but we forgot about the traffic in California!! Yeah, that was not fun! We got to the beach a little later than expected, but we were still able to relax for a short while, dip our toes into the water, and collect a few shells. Although we were not able to soak up any sun because of the fog, it was still a great way to end our vacation.
Thanks to all that joined in on my vacation chronicles. I know it's a completely different kind of photograph journey, but sometimes it's good to change things up a little! :)
Here are a few photographs of Disneyland and Newport Beach:
