While visiting in Arizona, there were many things I wanted to show my kids while we there. The first day we were there I had to take a road trip and show my kids all the places I grew up, the houses I lived in, the playgrounds I played on, and the restaurants I ate in. I couldn't believe that that Mel's Burgers was still open even after they closed the Copper Mines many years ago! Still as good today as it was when I was a child! The Cheese burger with the Ice Cream/slushy combo was definitely a favorite for my kids! :) I also had to show my kids what Baggin's and Eegees were all about! For those of you that have never been to Tucson, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but for those of you that live in, or have visited Tucson- be sure to eat here as much as possible! You will miss them dearly when you can't get a Veggie Sandwich with cheese, or a Pina Colada that makes your tongue and lips turn orange!
We also went to the Desert Museum, Tucson Zoo, and Colossal Caves while out there. I couldn't believe how much the Tuscon Zoo has grown! It was great! The kids had a great time at all 3, but I think the zoo was the best of all 3. The caves were in second place, and although the Desert Museum was great as well, we just went at the wrong time and most of the animals were asleep in the shade, and were not visible.
